Healthy Ways to Achieve Weight Loss

Move Around More

Exercise is the obvious and most effective form of achieving weight loss. It goes without saying, the more you move around the more weight you will lose, as long as your diet goals are sensible too. The benefits of exercise are enormous and yet it is something many of us struggle to fit in to our daily schedules, find the motivation for or stick to for an extended period of time . This is unfortunate, as the science of exercise offers many benefits beyond weight loss. These days there are plenty of options and methods for you to move around a bit more, from HIIT classes to virtual spin classes and more - there’s really no reason not to get up, get active, and feel fitter.

Change Your Diet

As well as moving around more, you should eat less foods that are deemed to be bad for you. A poor diet actually kills more people around the world than smoking tobacco or high blood pressure does, which is a truly frightening statistic. This means cutting out unhealthy processed foods, meals that are high in saturated fats, fried food and excessive amounts of sugar is vital to our health. Poor nutrition or a lack of nutritious food in your diet will not only inhibit your weight loss goals, but it can also lead to heart disease, type 2 diabetes or cancer - the importance of a healthy, balanced diet really cannot be overstated.

Instead of stuffing your face with unhealthy foods, you should try to eat more foods that are high in fibre; things such as berries, melon, broccoli, carrots, peas, beans and sweetcorn are all fantastic sources of fibre. Eating potatoes with the skin on is also a good source of fibre, and a really tasty option too! Our Grilled Buffalo with Wedges is packed full of fibre, containing broccoli, petit pois, sweetcorn and lightly spiced potato wedges to give this dish a really rounded and nutritious edge. These wonderful, earthy flavours are balanced perfectly by the flame-grilled buffalo meat, which is renowned for its lean and high protein benefits.

Lots of fruit and veg will keep your heart, kidneys and immune system in good working order throughout your life. Veggies don’t have to be boring either, there are plenty of exciting vegan-friendly recipes to choose from these days. Our exotic Jerk Jackfruit with Fried Rice is incredibly tasty and filling, which containing just 4g of fat and 172 calories! We combine Southeast Asian jackfruit with Spinach, Spring Onion, Pepper, Scotch Bonnet, Petit Pois, Bean sprouts and lots more goodness to provide a truly sensational meal prep that is ideal for weight loss.

Advice on Exercise for Weight Loss

  • Partners – get yourself an exercise buddy to make workouts more fun and interactive, and for added motivation.

  • Weighing – weigh yourself daily to make sure you keep on top of your progress and celebrate those little wins - every achievement matters!

  • Schedule – it’s easier to stick to a good exercise regime if you have a schedule in place that sets time aside for each different activity throughout the day.

  • Tempo – avoid rushing in and doing too much at once, as you may injure yourself or inhibit your recovery between sessions. Ease yourself into things and then turn up the intensity once you feel comfortable with your workouts.

  • Reward – do not compensate for a good exercise session by eating more food than you normally would, or you will undo all of your hard work! Instead, try to treat yourself in other ways such as a healthy fruit bowl or a night on the sofa with a good movie!

Meal Prep Goals = Meal Prep Weight Loss

Having a meal prep schedule in place can help you to ensure you eat well, stick to a schedule and have more time to fit in exercise around your busy day. Meals like our Vegan Pad Thai Noodles or Prawn Curry with White Rice are highly nutritious and extremely delicious too - what’s not to love! If that doesn’t take your fancy, check out our Grilled Sea Bass with Brown Rice – it’s served with onion, red cabbage, petit pois, tomato, coriander, parsley, onion, olive oil, sesame and garlic! A true taste sensation.
